The Food and Drug Administration announced a voluntary recall of the antibiotic Augmentin (amoxicillin-clavulanate) from Walmart and giant Eagle Health in a move that could have serious health consequences.
The FDA said it was "reviewing the potential risk of an adverse reaction to this drug and is considering alternative drugs that may offer similar benefits."

The FDA also asked Walmart, Walmart-based Eagle Health to "review all available data on the use of the liquid form of Augmentin in patients with certain underlying medical conditions," and to "review any adverse reactions that may occur during treatment with the liquid form of Augmentin."
